Woman dies in house fire

February 20, 2006 By admin

A house fire in Ida Grove early Sunday morning killed one person and left three hurt. Firefighters from Ida Grove and Battle Creek were summoned to a report of a blaze at the residence. According to the Ida County Sheriff’s office, Bonnie Daniels, age 51, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three other people, 63-year-old Michael Daniels, 14-year-old David Cartier and 12-year-old Teri Cartier, were all taken to Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove for treatment of injuries sustained in the fire. The initial cause of the blaze is thought to be careless smoking. An ongoing investigation is being conducted, though, by the sheriff’s office and the state fire marshal’s office.
