Man found dead at Forest City shooting range

February 22, 2006 By admin

Forest City police are investigating the death of a man who was found shot this week at a local shooting range. Forest City police chief Dan Davis says a motorist was passing by the range on Monday afternoon when they noticed the body of 47-year-old Tim Collins and called authorities.

Davis says they are not sure if Collins was shot accidentally or whether foul play is involved. The Hancock County Sheriff’s Department and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation are looking into Collins’ death, with an autopsy ordered to determine the cause of death. Collins was an employee of the Forest City electrical plant.
