One killed in accident in Crawford County

February 22, 2006 By admin

One person was killed, two injured, in a crash between a car and a semi-truck Tuesday afternoon in western Iowa’s Crawford County. Investigators say 24-year-old Lawrence Malone of Schleswig was traveling southbound on county road M-55 when he reportedly failed to yield upon entering the intersection of Highway 141 and collided with a westbound semi trailer-truck operated by 39-year-old Bryan Hollander of Denison.

Malone was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the Malone vehicle, 28-year-old Kelly Wood of Arion was transported to Mercy Hospital in Des Moines where he’s currently listed in serious condition. Hollander was treated and released at the scene. The accident remains under investigation.
