O-S-U pulls even with Iowa in Big Ten race

February 24, 2006 By admin

Iowa’s road to the Big Ten title is a lot tougher after last night’s Ohio State win at Michigan State. The Buckeyes pulled even with the Hawkeyes in the stands and Iowa may now need to win its final three games just to tie for the title.Iowa visits Illinois on Saturday. Hawkeye coach Steve Alford says they still control their own destiny, he says the margin for error is now less.

Alford says they face a great team Saturday with two of the winningest players in Illini history taking the floor for senior night. Ohio State will be favored in all of its remaining games but Alford says there have been enough shocking upsets to show that nothing is guaranteed. Alford says that’s what makes the league so fun. The Hawkeyes are 9-4 in the Big Ten.
