The Drake women put the celebration on hold at Indiana State. The Bulldogs got 24 points from sophomore guard Lindsay Whorton and posted a 70-65 victory in Terre Haute. The Sycamores would have clinched the Missouri Valley Conference with a victory. Instead the Bulldogs leave with an 11-5 Valley mark and a boost of confidence.
Whorton on the post game show on KRNT says they finished the game on the road and that was important. Whorton credits her big scoring day to a quick start. She says the coaches have worked with her in getting more comfortable with taking the ball to the basket, and that’s what she has done. Drake is 15-10 overall.
