Toddler dies after falling from horse-drawn wagon

February 27, 2006 By admin

A Ringgold County toddler died in a farm-related accident over the weekend. Officials say three-and-one-half-year-old Freddy Yoder was in a horse-drawn wagon while his father was cutting down a tree near their home Saturday afternoon. The tree being cut landed on a tin shed which spooked the horses. Freddy Yoder was thrown in front of the wagon while it was moving and was dragged several yards.

The steel wheel from the wagon ran over Freddy which caused severe head trauma and he died at the scene. Yoder is the son of Danny and Ida Yoder of rural Diagonal. Diagonal first responders and Ringgold County ambulance responded to the scene.
