Eastern Iowa teen dies in car wreck

March 15, 2006 By admin

An eastern Iowa teen died after losing control of his car in Maquoketa. It happened shortly after 11 A.M. Tuesday on Highway 61 under the Summit Street Overpass.

Witnesses reported seeing a care pass other vehicles, then veer off the road, striking a pillar 160 feet from the street. The car then spun around and hit another pillar and landed on its top. The driver, 18-year-old Kristopher Wilhelm of Maquoketa was pronounced dead at the scene. Wilhelm was the only person in the vehicle.
