Boswell says offensive in Iraq could be good or bad

March 16, 2006 By admin

Iowa Congressman Leonard Boswell is on the House intelligence committee, but says the committee was not briefed prior to today’s big military offensive in Iraq. Boswell says the generals in Iraq apparently made the decision on the offensive.

He says they’ll probably get the data to tell what the decisions was based on and Boswell says if there was information about an attack by insurgents than this very possibly could be a “good thing.”

Boswell says large attacks are a concern. Boswell says most Iraqis already don’t like the U.S. and he wonders how they’ll feel if the attacks kill a bunch of people. Boswell is a democrat representing the third district.
