Carroll doctor’s license pulled

March 20, 2006 By admin

State regulators have suspended the medical license of a western Iowa doctor who’s accused of slapping an elderly patient’s face. The Iowa Board of Medical Examiners has taken action against Dr. Eric Paulsen of Carroll. Paulsen is accused of slapping a woman who suffered from a behavioral disorder.

Investigators say the incident happened after the woman reportedly shoved food in his face last October. The board decided to suspend Paulsen’s license before holding a hearing, citing his long history of run-ins with regulators. A hearing date has not yet been set.
