A man missing since the day before Christmas has now been found. Twenty-two-year-old Matthew Kruziki was last seen by a police officer in East Dubuque, Illinois, about 1 AM on December 24th. He’d just been told to leave a bar and the cop told the young man he should just go back to his hotel room, across the river in Dubuque. Since then searchers have combed wooded areas near the bars in the small river town without success.

His father William Kruziki, a former sheriff and a Wisconsin U.S. Marshall, announced a 25-thousand-dollar reward one month ago. This weekend, a private pilot doing practice landings in his floatplane spotted something he thought was a log floating in the Mississippi River. When he realized it was a body, he notified authorities who retrieved the body and announced late Monday he’d been identified as Matthew Kruziki and that an autopsy showed he’d drowned.
