Sioux City police chief Joe Frisbie is responding to allegations leveled by a federal official that the regional meth training facility in Sioux city isn’t doing its job. Department of Justice inspector Glenn Fine says in a report filed after touring the facility, that the program wasn’t focused on meth or any other drug for that matter — but instead focuses on general law enforcement skills.

Fine says some states aren’t getting enough funds to fight meth because projects like the training center get the money. Chief Frisbie says Fine’s statement infuriates him. Frisbie says, “Nothing could be further from the truth.” Frisbie says Fine doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Frisbie says, “For Glen Fine to state that the training was not focused on meth or any other drug is an indictment, in fact a gross indictment of his gross ignorance of the criminal investigation process.”

Frisbie says Fine is undermining the mission of the training center, which Frisbie says had trained hundred of officers in the region, and around the country. Federal officials just this week released 987-thousand dollars in funding for the meth training center.
