Denison will get some air time on national TV next week as part of a special feature on the N-B-C Nightly News. Denison School District superintendent Mike Pardun was among several people who were interviewed for the feature.

Pardun says the feature is about migrants and immigration in the U.S. and he says Denison is a place in the midwest that has a large number of people moving there to work in the meatpacking industry and “make a life.” Pardun says he was asked about the challenges the district faces with the influx of migrants.

Pardun says they talked about the challenges facing the public school system, such as teaching students a second language and increasing their student scores. The feature on immigration is expected to air Wednesday, March 29th.
