Iowa native finishes second at BellSouth Classic

April 3, 2006 By admin

Cedar Rapids native Zach Johnson finished strong at the BellSouth Classic in Atlanta on Sunday to grab a share of second. Johnson birdied the final four holes to finish the tournament 15 under par but that was not even close to champion Phil Mickelson who finished 28 under par.

Johnson says with Mickelson playing so well the rest of the field did not have a chance. He says Mickelson was in a good zone and was fun to watch. Johnson says you have to look at it as a chance for you to get better, 13 shots better. Johnson’s only victory on the PGA Tour was at the BellSouth Classic in 2004.
