U-N-I to face Minnesota

April 4, 2006 By admin

The U-N-I baseball team is in non-conference action Wednesday afternoon when the Panthers host Minnesota. U-N-I is 15-12 overall after sweeping a three game series over the weekend against North Dakota State.

Panther coach Rick Heller says Minnesota is one of the best teams in the Big Ten and is a fun rivalry game for his team. Heller was happy with how his team played against North Dakota State, as he says the pitching came around.

Heller says the Panthers will not regain the services of sophomore pitcher Jeff Hille anytime soon. He has been sidelined since early in the season with an injured shoulder. Heller says it looks like four to five week rehab, and even then there has to be another check-up, but Heller says it doesn’t look like Hille will be back the rest of the year. U-N-I will host Missouri State this weekend in a Missouri Valley Conference series.
