April 5, 2006 By admin

One of the world’s top sprinters will make her first appearance at the Drake Relays later this month. Allyson Felix is the reigning world champ in the 200 meters and won the silver medal in the 200 at the 2004 Olympics. She will take part in the invitational 100 at Drake on April 29th.

Felix says running the 100 helps her run faster when she moves to the 200. She says her 200 lacks getting out and being aggressive in the first 50 meters, and she says that’s what the 100 teaches.

The Drake Relays will be her second race of the season. Felix says they’re focusing in an being ready for nationals and then European races later on.
Felix did not take part in the indoor season, and she says it’s been a nice break to have uninterrupted training. The 97th Drake Relays are April 27th through the 29th.
