Lyon County finds out more about mystery woman

Lyon County officials have found out a little more information on a woman who was found dead 27 years ago and just recently identified. Wilma June Nissen’s body was found in rural Lyon County in the mid 1970’s. Lyon County Sheriff Blythe Bloemendaal says a woman claiming to be Nissen’s daughter is telling the truth based on questioning and D-N-A testing.

Other leads, including a picture of Nisssen holding a baby and standing with a man, have not been helpful. Bloemendaal says the man — Michael Pizzaro — died in 1989. The baby has not been found though authorities know the child’s date of birth. They’re looking for Donald Wellington in California, as Wellington is called “person of interest” in the case.
