Simpson faces key series with Cornell

April 17, 2006 By admin

The Simpson College baseball team will try to stay in the thick of the Iowa Conference chase when the Storm visit Cornell on Wednesday. Simpson is 16-6 overall and 6-2 in the league race and coach John Siriani felt his team would be able to score a lot of runs. They are averaging more than five runs a game to this point. It is a pitching staff with a lot of depth as well. Sixteen different pitchers have seen action and seven have posted wins. The Storm trail Iowa Conference leader Central by a game heading into the week. Siriani says the balance in the conference makes every game a challenge.
