Cedar Falls police have filed charges against an Illinois man for allegedly using the Internet to arrange to have sex with a 15-year-old girl. Cedar Falls Police conducted an on-line chat room investigation over the past several weeks. During that chat room, 42-year-old Dean Lowery of Coal Valley, Illinois had been making contact with an assumed 15-year-old girl.
Many of the conversations were sexual in nature and Lowery allegedly discussed meeting with the assumed teen in Cedar Falls. Lowery also sent partially nude photos of himself via e-mail. He was arrested Friday at his place of employment in Davenport, while he was on-line with the presumed teenage. Lowery is charged with enticing away a minor.
