Champions expected to return for Allianz

May 9, 2006 By admin

Nearly all of the top players on the Champion’s Tour will compete at the Allianz Championship which moves back to the Glen Oaks Country Club in West Des Moines. The list includes defending champion Tom Jenkins who edged D.A. Weibring in a playoff at the Tournament Club of Iowa says he’s excited to get back to Glen Oaks. He says the fourth hole is the one he’s still trying to conquer.

Jenkins finished second to Weibring two years ago at Glen Oaks. He says they might want to call it the D-A/T-J show after the battles they have the last two years.

Tournament director Jeff Starr says the field is strong with all five defending champions back, along with the leading money winner Loren Roberts. The Allianz Championship is May 29th through June 4th.
