Lead turns up empty in missing anchorwoman case

May 10, 2006 By admin

Another possible lead has dried up in the case of Jodi Huisentruit, the Mason City TV anchorwoman who vanished 11 years ago. Mason City and Hancock County authorities yesterday dug up the area where Duane Arnold of Mason City thought could be a possible grave-site near his cabin along Eagle Lake near Britt. Arnold had paid thousands of dollars in hiring an engineering firm to use ground-penetrating radar to survey the land.

The firm’s results confirmed there was something there, but they were not sure what it could be. Authorities yesterday found that it was a layer of bricks and rocks which is suspected to have been dumped there for fill. Mason City police Lieutenant Ron Vande Weerd says in a written statement that investigators did not find any new evidence or information.
