Two motorcyclists were killed in Des Moines early this morning. Des Moines police say a man and woman were speeding on the motorcycle when they rear-ended an S-U-V on the capitol city’s east side about 1 A.M. Both cyclists were thrown off the bike.
Neither wore a helmet. Both were dead at the scene. They’re identified as William Auch and Reney Piimauna, both 39. No one in the S-U-V was hurt. These mark the third and fourth motorcycle deaths in Des Moines in just a week. 13 have died statewide this year.
