Guttenberg is hosting its first ever Cajun Fest this weekend. Spokesperson Lori Wallace says the reason for the event is simple. She says they “just needed something new and different and it just happened.” Wallace says the Cajun theme kind of goes with the Mississippi River connection.

Wallace says its colorful and has great food and “it’s a river thing.” Wallace says they have all sorts of entertainment set up for tonight. She says they have a Cajun band from Chicago, Cajun food, and donated prizes for people who collect beads for the drawing. The Guttenberg Cajun Fest begins at four p.m. today (Saturday) on South River Park Drive.
