Hawkeyes play in summer basketball league

June 19, 2006 By admin

Iowa basketball fans can get a glimpse of current and future Hawkeyes beginning tonight near Iowa City when the Prime Time League begins. The action begins at six with four games on Monday and Wednesday evenings through July 24th.

P-T-L Commissioner Randy Larson says all the games are at the air-conditioned North Liberty rec center. All of Iowa’s incoming players will be taking part including prized forward Tyler Smith, Cyrus Tate and David Palmer.

Larson says they try to emphasize solid play on both ends of the court. Larson says they try to treat it like a real battle to build good basketball habits, so the player’s skills don’t slip. The Game Time League for women began last week and will have games every Tuesday and Thursday.
