The first ever Special Olympics National Games wrapped up in Ames Friday and now some of the same athletes will be looking to the 2007 World Summer Games in China. The woman who’ll coach cycling at the World Games, Cindi Hart, also coaches athletes without disabilities.

Hart says she almost enjoys coaching the Special Olympics athletes more. She says Special Olympics is challenging, but Hart says she’s found,”The greater the challenge, the greater the reward.” Hart says the next competition for the athletes after Ames will take a great effort.

Hart says it will be a real challenge to get the team to Shanghai, China. She says getting them there will take a lot of work from the coaches and organizers and help from many supporters. Hart is from Indiana.
