Sioux Center man dies in tractor accident

A Sioux Center man has died in a farm accident. The Sioux County Sheriff’s office, Sioux Center Fire Department and the Sioux Center ambulance responded to a 9-1-1 call that came in at about 9:30 Tuesday morning.

Seventy-three-year-old Peter Vonk was found five-and-a-half miles west of Sioux Center, pinned under a tractor. Rescue workers extricated Vonk and he was transported to the hospital in Sioux Center, where he was pronounced dead. The accident remains under investigation.
