Body found near Glenwood identified

July 18, 2006 By admin

The Mills County Sheriff says the remains found in a roadside ditch last month near Glenwood have been identified.

Sheriff Mack Taylor says the remains found June 10th are those of 25-year-old Brianne Smith of Omaha, Nebraska. Taylor says his department, working with the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, was able to identify Smith using fingerprints.

Taylor says his department, the D-C-I and Omaha Police are still working to figure out how and why Smith’s body ended up in the ditch west of Glenwood. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the Mills County Sheriff’s Department or the D-C-I.
