Iowa community featured in new T-V show

July 19, 2006 By admin

A small southwest Iowa community will be the featured backdrop of a new television show scheduled to premiere this fall. The Adair County town of Bridgewater is the location producers of the television show “Runaway” have chosen as the site for a fictional family running from the law. Paul Radar, the family’s patriarch, was convicted of a crime he didn’t commit and sets out to clear his name, all the while working to find the real killer.

Bridgewater Councilman Steve Frese said he was shocked to hear the news, as there haven’t been any camera crews in town, or any unusual filming activity, save for a few visitors passing through. Filming for the program is actually likely to take place in Canada, as most of the crew is Canadian. But Mayor Gary Firch says if it draws people to their town out of curiosity, he thinks they’ll like it as much as the residents who live there. “Runaway” will debut on the new “C-W” network on September 25th.
