52-year-old charged with molesting 8-year-old Grinnell girl

July 25, 2006 By admin

Grinnell police have arrested a man on charges of indecent contact with a child.

Police say the victim was an eight-year-old child and the incident occurred early in May of this year. Sergeant Randy Hansen of the Grinnell Police Department says after getting a complaint of inappropriate touching of a sexual nature, the department investigated, concluded it was likely the abuse occurred, filed criminal charges and arrested the suspect today.

Fifty-two-year-old Jeffrey David Barry, formerly of Las Vegas, is out on bond. If he’s convicted he could face up to two years in prison.
