Rain set back the schedule of games at the girls’ state softball tournament today in Fort Dodge. The Class 1A consolation games were scheduled to start this morning with Earlham meeting New London and Don Bosco meeting North Mahaska.

The Class 2A quarterfinal round concludes, tonight, at the state high school softball tournament in Fort Dodge. At five o’clock top ranked Solon goes up against Eastern Iowa Hawkeye Conference rival Mid-Prairie. Solon won both regular season matchups.

Also tonight it is the 3A opening round. Third ranked Clear Creek-Amana is in the tournament for the 21st time and opens against Grinnell while seventh rated Humboldt goes up against number nine Cedar Rapids Xavier.

The final games of the evening pit top ranked Spirit Lake against New Hampton and eighth rated Harlan makes its first appearance since 1997 against Albia.
