August 5, 2006 By admin

Authorities are looking for the man who robbed a downtown Le Mars bank Friday afternoon. Le Mars police chief Stuart Dekkenga says the suspect took money from a teller at Primebank at 2:50 p.m.

The chief says a man entered Primebank, approached the teller line and brandished a weapon. He informed the tellers and the staff the bank was being robbed. After taking the money, the man left on foot going north from the bank.

Dekkenga describes the suspect as a white man with a brown-colored goatee-style beard. Witnesses describe the robber as between 30 and 40 years old and said he was wearing a camouflage ball cap. He stood somewhere between five foot ten and six feet one-inches tall and weighed between two-hundred and two-hundred-30. He was wearing a gray, long-sleeved shirt, dark blue jeans, dark wrap around sun glasses and dark tennis shoes, He was also carrying a dark colored small black pack. Police won’t say how much money was taken. No one was hurt.
