Three foreign exchange students are jailed in Iowa after apparently violating immigration laws. The students range in age from 18 to 20 and were part of a group from Egypt that was supposed to report to Montana State University for a month-long program. Of 17 students, only six made it to class in Montana. The rest were all over the U.S.

The three picked up in Iowa were arrested Friday night in Des Moines, though authorities aren’t saying exactly where or how they were found. The other Egyptians were arrested in Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey and Virginia. Federal agents say charges are all for visa violations, not anything terrorist-related. All face deportation.
