A spokesman with the U.S. Small Business Administration says an analysis of the latest job numbers shows good news for Iowa. Wendal Bailey says the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics shows over 29-thousand new jobs have been created in the state.

Bailey says the most important news is that the jobs are in the highest paid categories of construction work with five-thousand-200 new jobs and manufacturing with four-thousand-500 new jobs. Bailey says a total of 29-thousand-100 new jobs were created.

Bailey says Iowa did better when compared with its neighbors in the four-state region. He says Missouri, a more populated state had 28-thousand-700 new jobs, Kansas had 10-thousand-100 new jobs and Nebraska 19-thousand-500. Bailey transportation and financial services categories saw the smallest increase in jobsin Iowa.
