Authorities are saying little about the death of a northeast Iowa man on Wednesday. The death of a Guttenberg man is under investigation by the Clayton County Sheriff’s Department and the Division of Criminal Investigation.
After receiving a 9-1-1 call, authorities responded to a residence on Highway 52 near Guttenberg and found 46-year-old Bart Smith unresponsive. Smith was taken to the Guttenberg Hospital where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy is scheduled.
