The attorney for a western Iowa man facing child pornography charges says he wants to be removed from the case. In a motion filed late last week, Attorney Paul Scott asked to be removed as attorney for Brian Street, because of a “complete breakdown in the attorney-client relationship,” and because Street “will not assist in his own defense or cooperate in any way,” while Scott is still on the case.

Scott said also, that he and Street have “irreconcilable conflicts.” Street is the stepfather of Tracy Dyess, the Griswold teen who’s in prison for setting fire to her family’s home in March 2005, in an attempt to kill Street for years of sexual abuse. Tracy‘s younger sister and her nephew died in the blaze.

Street faces federal charges of sexual exploitation of a minor and possession of child pornography. His trial — set for November sixth — has previously been delayed nearly a dozen times. A judge will conduct a hearing on Scott’s motion to withdraw as Street’s attorney Friday morning, at the U.S. Courthouse in Des Moines.
