UNI ready to face Minnesota

September 13, 2006 By admin

The UNI volleyball team resumes its annual “Border Battle” series with Minnesota tonight. The Panthers are 7-and-4 overall after winning two of three matches in their own invitational over the weekend.

U-N-I coach Bobbi Petersen, says they’ve played 11 matches and Minnesota has only played six, so she says Minnesota will either be rested or not have as much experience.

Peterson expects a tough match against the Golden Gophers. She says even though the Gophers are 2-4, that’s not an indication of their ability. Peterson says Minnesota took top ranked Nebraska to four games and each game was close. She expects a great battle with them. Tonight’s match is in Rochester, Minnesota.
