Council Bluffs man pleads "not guilty" in wife’s murder

September 19, 2006 By admin

The husband of a murdered Council Bluffs woman has pleaded not guilty to killing her. According to court records, 40-year old Stan Tribble entered his plea Monday, in Pottawattamie County District Court. Tribble was arrested August eighth and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of his wife, Tracy Gostomski-Tribble.

Tribble is charged with murdering his wife sometime during the late evening hours of May Second and the early morning hours of May Third. Her body was found floating in the Missouri River a little over two weeks later. Autopsy results show she died from asphyxiation. Prosecutors say Stan Tribble has a history of suspected domestic violence that led up to Gostomski-Tribble’s death.

An attorney representing Tribble says the evidence against his client is purely circumstantial. His trial has been set for November.
