Iowa running back Albert Young says it does not matter how the Hawkeyes move the ball as long as they keep winning. After averaging 111 yards per game in 2005 Young has been limited to around 75 yards per contest the first three weeks as opponents have crowded the line of scrimmage to make Iowa’s young receivers make plays.

Young says the team is doing well and that’s what matters. Young says last year the team was 2-1 at this point and says he’ll trade in some rushing numbers for another win.

Young says while defenses are trying to take away the running lanes it has opened up the pass game. Young says it doesn’t make a difference when teams stack up, but he says it does make it tough to get started. Young says he was player of the game against I-S-U last year and his team lost the game. Young says he’d rather have the win than they individual award.

Young says it defenses continue to load up against the run Drew Tate will take advantage. He says he’d be lying if he said it wasn’t frustrating, but he says he realizes that’s something he has to deal with. Young says they can still let Tate pick the other team apart by passing. And he says Tate gets the ball to backs via screens and dump off passes.

The 14th ranked Hawkeyes are 3-0 heading into this weekend’s Big Ten opener at Illinois.
