Frist back to campaign; Vilsack’s in New Hampshire

September 23, 2006 By admin

Former Governor Terry Branstad and Bill Frist of Tennessee, the GOP Leader in the U.S. Senate, are in Adel this morning for a Republican Party skeet shooting contest. Branstad’s youngest son, Marcus, is working for Frist, who is considering a run for the White House in 2008. Frist will be the keynote speaker at a GOP fundraiser in Des Moines this evening.

Iowa’s Governor, Democrat Tom Vilsack, will be the keynote speaker tonight at a banquet in New Hampshire where Vilsack is laying the groundwork for a presidential campaign.

On Sunday afternoon, the children of former Iowa Governors Terry Branstad, Robert Ray and Harold Hughes will speak at a forum in the State Historical Building. The event is part of activities scheduled to highlight a new exhibit in the building on Iowa’s governors.
