Candidate Warner questions Iowa Democrats

September 27, 2006 By admin

One of the probable presidential candidates of 2008 is asking a few questions of Iowa Democrats who participated in the 2004 Caucuses. Former Virginia Governor Mark Warner has sent a survey to Iowa Democrats. Warner’s questionnaire seeks to gauge whether Iowa Democrats are more concerned about the Iraq war and terrorism or domestic issues like reducing the deficit or improving education.

Another question solicits opinions on how best to make America energy independent. Warner has said “the real issues we face are no longer right versus left or conservative versus liberal. They’re about the past versus the future.” Warner’s PAC is giving so-called “Mapchanger” donations to Democrats who are candidates for the Iowa legislature, soliciting “votes” on-line to determine which candidates get the checks.
