Northwestern faces big homecoming foe

October 4, 2006 By admin

Two of the top small college football teams in the country will meet in Orange City on Saturday when Northwestern hosts Sioux Falls in a matchup of top five teams in NAIA. Northwestern is fifth ranked nationally and at 5-0 would take a big step toward the Great Plains Conference championship with a win.

Northwestern coach Orv Otten says they’ve already played the other two teams in the ratings and they know you can’t take anybody lightly.

Both teams have dominant defenses that are forcing turnovers and giving up less than a touchdown per game. Otten says turnovers and defense have helped them win and it has been the same thing for Sioux Falls.

With a big crowd expected Otten expects a great atmosphere for this game. This is the homecoming game and he expects a lot of alums coming to watch.
Sioux Falls is 5-0 and ranked third nationally.
