Arrest in Grundy Center hit-and-run

Authorities say they’ve made an arrest in a fatal hit and run accident in Grundy Center.

Around five o’clock Monday morning, 57-year-old Barbara Joyce Dellit of Grundy Center was walking her dog when she was struck by a car and killed. The Grundy County Sheriff reports 31-year-old Jason Appel of Grundy Center has been arrested. He faces an aggravated misdemeanor charge of leaving the scene of a fatality accident.

More charges are pending. Any witnesses are urged to come forward.
