The Iowa State Cyclones bounced back from an 0-3 start in Big-12 play to finish with a winning record in 2005 and they will need to do the same thing this season. The Cyclones host Texas Tech this weekend after a 34-9 loss at Oklahoma.

ISU coach Dan McCarney says the Cyclones need a good defensive game plan against a Tech offense that is always one of the best passing offenses in the country. McCarney says they have to decide if they’re going to bring three, blitz, rush four or bring in extra defensive backs. He says Tech’s short passing game is just as good as running the ball because they have so much faith in their system.

Senior cornerback DeAndre Jackson suffered a season ending knee injury against Oklahoma. Coach McCarney says Former tailback Jason Harris move into Jackson’s spot in the line-up. McCarney says Harris has made some good plays so far and will only get better with experience. McCarney says Harris has a bright future ahead of him.

McCarney says the Cyclones have not lost confidence but after three straight losses they desperately need a win.
