Cedar Falls firefighter charged with lascivious acts with a child

October 18, 2006 By admin

A Cedar Falls firefighter has been arrested for allegedly having sexual contact with a girl. Thirty-six-year-old Brett Gilbert was taken into custody Tuesday on charges of lascivious acts with a child and indecent contact with a child. Gilbert is accused of having inappropriate contact with a six-year-old girl in April of this year, and in the fall of 2005.

Neither incident was reported until late last month. After his arrest, Gilbert was released on 26-thousand dollars bond. Gilbert has been a Cedar Falls firefighter for four-and-a-half years, and also previously served as fire chief in the nearby community of Hudson.
