Authorities in eastern Iowa have made an arrest in a weekend hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian. Forty-five-year-old Kay Kraske of Davenport was jogging along the city’s River Drive early Sunday morning, when police say a passing car struck and killed her.

Kraske was on her way to take part in a foot race, the Pumpkin Dash, and was already wearing her number. Investigators say the vehicle that hit her was spotted on videotape from a nearby surveilance camera, veering out of control and nearly slamming into oncoming traffic.

The car was found in a westside parking lot and was quickly traced to 28-year-old Michael Cinadr of Davenport. He was taken into custody Sunday night and police say he admits being at the wheel when Kraske was hit. Cinadar has been charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident.
