U-N-I has different look, but hopes for same results

The coach is new but the expectations remain the same for the UNI mens’ basketball team heading into the season. The Panthers are coming off their best run in school history and have made it to the NCAA Tournament the past three seasons. After five years as an assistant coach Ben Jacobsen took over the program when Greg McDermott Left for Iowa State.

Jacobsen says they don’t put a number on how many wins they will have. He says they just talk about doing well and setting themselves up to go to the NCAA Tournament. With some new faces in the guard court this will be a different type of team.

Jacobsen says last year they had experiences guards at ever position, but now the two inside guys are the most experiences. Jacobsen says the team will be made up a little differently, but he says they hope for the same results.

The Panther host Central College in an exhibition game on Wednesday.
