Northwestern coach says his team is playing better

November 2, 2006 By admin

Despite a 2-7 overall record and 0-5 Big Ten mark Northwestern coach Pat Fitzgerald feels his team is making progress. The Wildcats were competitive last week in a 17-0 loss at second rated Michigan. Fitzgerald says he’s happy that they’re playing better football and are playing to honor their seniors and go out on a good note.

Fitzgerald says they’ve had a good rivalry against Iowa through the years, but Fitzgerald says the Hawkeyes will be a tough matchup. He says they’re well coached in the fundamentals.
He says the Wildcats would like to put together a strong finish to the season. Fitzgerald says it’s not hard to get his players motivated, he just has to get them to the stadium.
