The Iowa Hawkeyes return to Big Ten action at home against Northwestern. Iowa is 6-3 overall while the Wildcats are 2-7 overall and 0-5 in the Big Ten. Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz says Northwestern might be disappointed by their record, but he says you don’t see it in the way the team is playing.

The Hawkeyes suffered their most disappointing loss of 2005 at Northwestern and Ferentz says while revenge is not a factor they want to play better this time. Ferentz says the games where you don’t bring your best are tough to live with, although he says these are two different teams now.

There is no more room for error for Iowa State. The Cyclones take an 0-5 Big 12 record into a matchup at home against Kansas. At 3-6 overall, the Cyclones need to win out to avoid a losing season.

Cyclone coach Dan McCarney says post season play seems out of reach, but he says stranger things have happened. McCarney says the coaches and players are trying to keep a positive attitude.
