Man killed in crash with train

The Iowa State Patrol’s investigating the crash of a motor vehicle and a train. It happened just before 7 this morning on the east side of Webster City, when a northbound Chevy Blazer pulled into the path of an oncoming Burlington Northern Santa Fe train.

The train hit the SUV, which came to rest in the northwest corner of the intersection and a Clarion man, 26-year-old Carlos Quip of Clarion, was thrown from the vehicle and was dead at the scene. The driver was taken to a Webster City hospital.
