Radio Iowa talked with deputy Iowa Secretary of State Charlie Krogmeier right after the polls closed at nine o’clock. He says turn-out in today’s election may meet or exceed the one-million mark that was set in 2002.

“It looks like pretty good numbers,” Krogmeier says. “What we’re hearing from all the major counties is pretty big turn-out.”

In Johnson County — the Iowa City area — there were long lines this evening and voters who were in line by nine o’clock were allowed to cast a ballot.
