Central Iowa woman dies in accident

November 9, 2006 By admin

A central Iowa woman died Wednesday following a traffic accident in western Iowa.
According to Pottawattamie County Sheriff Jeff Danker, 29-year old Nancy Cornejo-Hernandez, of Urbandale, suffered fatal injuries during a crash that occurred three-miles west of the Walnut exit.

Danker says witnesses reported seeing the woman’s Chevrolet Lumina drift onto the shoulder as it was traveling westbound. When she overcorrected, Cornejo-Hernandez lost control, and her car began to skid into the median, where it rolled several times. Cornejo-Hernandez was transported by helicopter to an Omaha, Nebraska hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Danker says she was wearing a seatbelt when the crash occurred yesterday at around 2:25 P.M.
